NEW IBERIA - Melinda Garza Coleman entered this Earth November 17, 1952, and entered God's kingdom on Thursday, August 11, 2011, with her family by her side in Houston, TX. Though she lost her valiant fight with lung cancer, she victoriously entered Heaven's gates. As a lifelong native of New Iberia, Melinda was a stranger to no one. She was a local business owner for 20 years and touched hearts and shared smiles along the way with those she crossed paths. She also shared her love for God and Jesus Christ as a Catechism teacher.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Camacho Garza; father, Abelardo Garza; brothers, Mario Juan Garza and Lalo Santiago Garza; and sister, Juanita Garza.
