Bernard Willard "Pookie" Coleman - a native of Daphne, AL born February 25, 1956 and a resident of Mobile, AL departed this life January 11, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Bernard was a profound Brick Mason for many years. He was preceded in death by his father Clemmie T. Coleman, sister Gwendolyn Harris, grandmother Lelia Mae Foster, grandfather Clem Coleman, great grandmother Lillian Harris, great aunts and uncles Ethel Lee Charley, Lorena Washington, Melvin and Sylvester Harris, half brother Johnny Patrick, stepfather Nathaniel Williams, stepbrother Nathaniel Williams III, and stepsister Bernadette Williams. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted mother Johnnie Mae Coleman, one sister Janice (Glen Moody) Knighton, four brothers Joseph (Bertha), Norvell (Carolyn), Gregory (Harriett) Coleman all of Mobile and Ronald Coleman of College Park, GA. Six uncles, one devoted Ernest J. Wright Beauford, S.C. and three aunts, a devoted niece Gwenesha Coleman of Mobile, a devoted wife Barbara Simon Coleman of Mobile, five devoted adopted children Lana, Damon, Dione and Velecia Simon all of Mobile and Ronald Simon of Houston, TX, two devoted granddaughters, Carneshia White and Chalandra Bernauda, both of Mobile, devoted mother in law Annie Grace. Two sisters in law, Demetrice Coleman of Decatur, GA and Tanya Coleman of Mobile, several devoted cousins Cleo, Conrad and Diane, Charley, Johnnie Ella Smith, David, Derrick and Lillian White, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 11am until the 1pm funeral hour Friday January 19, 2007 at St. Joseph Baptist Church South Broad St, Rev James Taylor officiating. Interment will be at the Catholic Cemetery, Lovett's Funeral Chapel directing.
