FUNERAL OF ED COLEMAN.
The body of Ed Coleman was brought here from Ponca City Saturday and was taken at once to the home of his sister, Mrs. Bascom Coker, where it was viewed Sunday morning by a large number of friends of the family who called to offer condolence and take a look at their friend of other days before being consigned to the grave. Banks of beautiful flowers nestled on and beside the casket and constituted the most elaborate display of floral offerings ever seen in Idabel.
At 3:00 Sunday the funeral was held at the American Legion hut on lower Central Ave. The hut was crowded to its capacity and the address by Dr. McElroy was full of pathos and sensible thoughts.
The burial followed at the Denison cemetery, the entire services being under the auspices of the American Legion.
The sisters of the deceased who attended the funeral were Mrs. R.E. McClure, Mrs. F.B. Ostermueller, Mrs. Nell Foster, Miss Anna Bell Coleman, and Miss Grace Coleman, all of Fort Worth, Texas. A brother, O.M. Coleman and Mrs.
Coleman, of Fort Worth were also present.
The remains were accompanied to Idabel by Mrs. Coleman and two children, Frank Edward and Maurice, Mrs. Chas. J. Townsend and Mrs. R.E. McClure.
The crowd which attended this funeral was the largest, perhaps, which has attended a funeral in Idabel for many years.
