Mrs. Goldie Ann Cole Breeding, 79, of Cedar Bluff, went to be with the Lord at her Home Going on July 4, 2007 in a Richlands, Va., hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Buchanan County and was the daughter of the late Marshall and Fannie Vandyke Cole, both Buchanan County natives.
She had lived most of her life in Buchanan County until moving to the Tazewell County area 25 years ago. She was a retired cafeteria worker at Garden Creek Elementary School and was a member of the Richlands Tabernacle. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and had served the Lord for the past 45 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, seven brothers, and one son-in-law, John Osborne.
Survivors are: Her Husband of 60 years, William "Bill" Breeding; three daughters, Shirley Horton and husband, Mack of Richlands, Va., Brenda Vestal and husband, Kenneth of Oakwood, Va., Darlene Osborne of Raven, Va.; four sons, Curtis Breeding and wife, Myra of Richlands, Ronnie Breeding of Tazewell, Va., Jimmy Breeding and wife, Carol of Keen Mountain, Va., Rev. Donnie Breeding and wife, Alisha of Hurley, Va.; three brothers: Victor Cole of Pilgrim Knob, Va., Stuart Cole of Cedar Bluff, Va., Dennis Cole of Raven, Va., 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Goldie Ann Cole Breeding will be conducted Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Richlands Tabernacle in Richlands, with the Rev. Ralph Horton, Rev. David Horton, and Rev. Bob Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill. Pallbearers will be Tommy Vestal, Marshall Osborne, Jason Breeding, James Breeding, Willie Breeding, Brannon Breeding, Charlton Breeding, Samuel Hayden, and Kobe Osborne. Honorary pallbearers will be Jodi Osborne, Robin Horton, Kristie Leonard, Christine Hayden, Alyssa Osborne, Brice Ann Breeding, Kailyn Breeding, Brian McGraw, Dr. Larry Mitchell, Jim Osborne, Second and Fourth Floor Nursing Staff of the Clinch Valley Medical Center, and Independent Home Health Staff.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.
