Born in the City of Denver in what was then Arapaho County, Colorado, she moved with her parents and siblings to Norwich, NY about 1906. Married John Laden in 1909. He died in 1915 of Tuberculosis and she married Chauncey D. Cole, Sr. in 1917. Called "Libby" by her siblings and husband and "Muddy" by her grandkids, a dear, sweet woman whose two sons both served with distinction in the Second World War. She also had five daughters and dozens of grandchildren. She is lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
