Myrtie Barham Cole, oldest daughter of Presley and Marion (Hastings) Barham was born on November 21, 1872 at Waukon, IA and passed away April 16, 1963 at the age of 90.
In 1887, her parents moved to Kansas, settling near Almena and here she resided with her parents, three brothers and five sisters until her marriage to Arthur Herbert Cole on February 13, 1892 at Almena, Kansas.
To this union, three sons and four daughters; Herbert of Littleton, Colorado, Taunette (Mrs. Lyman Fitzhugh) of Bonanza, Oregon; Webster of the home; Marion (Mrs. Max Meyer) of Burlington, Colorado; Daniel of Los Angeles, California; and Madge (Mrs. Henry Kelling). She was preceded in death by her husband on April 27, 1953 and her daughter; Madge on February 2, 1958.
She leaves to mourn her passing six children, twenty-six grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, and
five great great grandchildren.
Also, she is survived by two sisters; Mrs. Daisy Krouse of Logan, Kansas; and Mrs Minnie Van Patten of
Jerome, Idaho; a sister-in-law; Mrs. Nellie Cole of Logan, Kansas.
Services were held April 20, 1963 with A. J. Ives of the Christian Church, Logan, Kansas. Interment was held at Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan, Phillips, Kansas.
