Mrs. Mae C. Beames
Mrs. Mae C. Beames died suddenly at her home Thursday evening of last week. She had not been in the best of health for several months, but her death was unexpected.
She was a daughter of Charles E. and Charlotte Chase Colburn, and was born in the town of Milford February 22, 1888, and all her life had been spent in this town. In March 1912, she was married to Harley J. Beames, who operated the store now operated by C. W. Crowley. Mr. Beames died in 1931, and since then Mrs. Beames has operated a tourist home and boarding house at her South Main street home.
She was a member of the Rebekahs and held the office of district deputy.
She is survived by one brother, Supervisor L.C. Colburn, and by one sister, Mrs. E.H. Rider.
Funeral services were held from her late home Monday afternoon, the Rev. W.C. Dodge, officiating. Burial will be made later in the Milford Cemetery.
