Lieut Amos Colburn, Sr

He was the son of Andrew and Jane (Allen) Colburn. He married Sarah Dodge in 1768.

He was a Lieutenant in the Revolutionary War commissioned November 8, 1776 as a 2nd Lieutenant in Capt. Daniel Livermore's Co., 3rd New Hampshire Regt., and received his discharge August 9, 1778, from General Washington. He also served under General Stark, in the New Hampshire Regt. & under Col. Scammell.

Book: "Genealogy of the descendants of Edward Colburn/Coburn : came from England, 1635; purchased land in "Dracutt on Merrimack," 1668" has him buried in Champion, Jefferson, NY and DAR has him dying in Chesterfield, Cheshire, New Hampshire. His son Amos Colburn Jr was one of the early settlers of Champion.
