She was born Sept. 19, 1905, in Villisca, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Annie Timby Reichardt. A long time Hutchinson community resident, moving for Gridley, she was a homemaker. She belonged to New Hope Baptist Church, Extension Home Unit, and Bible Study Club. Tatting was one of her special hobbies.
She was married to Arnold Keene. He died. On Dec. 24, 1945, she married Alva Cokeley in Burlington. He died Feb. 8, 1964. Survivors include: three daughters, Laura Henshaw and husband John, Leavenworth, Doris Painter, Vernona, Penn, and Darlene Reed, Smithville, Tenn; six stepchildren, Bill Cokeley, Pueblo, Colo, Romona Yorgensen, Gridley, Gladys Avery and Elsie Law, both of Hutchinson, Major Cokeley, Haven, and John Cokeley, Stafford; two foster sons, Larry Tong, Independence, Mo, and Lyle Wheeler, Burlington; multiple grandchildren; great-grandchildren;great-great-grandchildren; great-great-great-grandchildren; and great-great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Reichardt Sr.; and several grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 9 am Monday at New Hope Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Harold E. Nelson presiding. Graveside service will be at 3 pm Monday in Gridley Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be sent to Mennonite Manor or to New Hope Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
