Mary Ann Young, 78, died Saturday morning, May 5, 2001, at Seneca District Hospital in Chester. She was born May 20, 1922, in rural Kansas. She moved to Westwood in 1951 from Axtell, Kan. Mary was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Westwood. She had helped raise numerous foster children within the Westwood community. She was an accomplished weaver and seamstress, who also enjoyed the outdoors through fishing. Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ed, of Westwood; sons, Richard of Wenatchee, Wash., and Timothy of Chelan, Wash.; sister, Teresa Heideman of Seneca, Kan.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
