BRISTOL — Lee J. Cogswell, 72, of Bristol, passed away peacefully early Friday, May 30, 2014. He was the husband of Alice (LeRoy) Cogswell.
Lee was born in New Milford on March 7, 1942, a son of the late Neil and Catherine (Ryan) Cogswell. He had been employed with the city of Hartford in its personnel department for 15 years.
For the past many years, Lee and his wife were the owners of Lee Cogswell Associates Inc., a management consulting firm that developed and administered entry level and promotional tests for cities and towns all over Connecticut.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Jennifer Livingston (Fredrick) of Bristol, Stephen J. Cogswell (Mary Beth) of Charlotte, N.C. and Suzanne Cogswell of Arlington, Mass.; and his brother and sister, Noel Cogswell and Gail Andrew, both of Waterbury; grandchildren Brody and Riley Livingston and Alex Cogswell; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 between 5 and 8 p.m. at O'Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville. The funeral will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Committal services and interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215 (www.dana-farber.org).
