RITES MONDAY IN SAWYER FOR MRS. A. COFRIN

Following an illness of several months from old age complications, Mrs. Ashley C. Cofrin, 83 died at her home in Sawyer last week Thursday. Funeral services were held from the Corpus Christi church Monday with the Rev. H. N. Pfeifer officiating. The pallbearers were Edward Hunt, William Silvanus, Frank Kohlbeck, Eugene Barnard, Edward Rehm and Louis Seller.
Mrs. Cofrin, whose maiden name was Emile Ann Stoneman, was born at Racine Aug. 17, 1852 and three years later came to Door County with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Stoneman, who settled in Forestville. She was married to Ashley Cofrin Feb. 8, 1879, at Algoma, and after living at Forestville a few years, the couple moved to this city about 1890.
Mrs. Cofrin before her marriage was a school teacher at Forestville and Stokes. Mr. Cofrin, who died in 1932, was a marine engineer.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John F. (Alma) Moore, and one son, Charles R., of Sawyer one brother, Joseph Stoneman Sr. of Forestville five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
