Alma Coffman, daughter of Freeman and Mary Weaklend Ruble was born October 12, 1905 and passed away November 29, 2002 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at the age of 97 years.
She was educated in the Clarke County rural Schools and Normal Training from Simpson College for one year. She taught school in the Clarke County Schools for six years.
She was united in marriage to Arthur W. Coffman December 25, 1926 at Osceola, Iowa and three boys blessed this union, Orval, Kenneth and Larry. They lived on a farm in Liberty Township for 68 years moving to Woodburn eight years ago. They entered the Extended Care Unit of Clarke County Hospital July 28, 1998 and they moved to Osceola Nursing and Rehab Center on June 1, 1999.Alma enjoyed flowers and sewing and especially being with her family. Her memory will remain cherished in their hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arthur in 1999, her son Orval Coffman and his wife Wanda, a granddaughter, Vicky Lynn Coffman Rodgers and two brothers, Ralph and Henry Ruble.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Coffman and wife Betty of Eldora, Iowa, Larry Coffman and wife Linda of Woodburn, Iowa; 5 grandchildren, Doug Coffman and wife Anita of Eldora, Iowa; Sandra Proctor and husband Sam of Humbolt, Iowa; Lisa Coffman of Seaford, Delaware; Steve Coffman of Woodburn, Iowa; and Dennis Curtis and wife Pam of Florida; 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
