Mary Kathleen Coffman Banner, 80, was born on February 17, 1933 in Electra, TX and passed away on January 1, 2014. Arrangements are being made by Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home and the funeral service will be at First Presbyterian Church Chapel, on January 4, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

She was the daughter of James and Virginia Coffman of Electra, TX and she was a graduate of Electra High School. She married Jack Banner on September 30, 1960 in Wichita Falls and they raised four daughters and one son. He preceded her in death in 2005. Together they created a loving family and enjoyed traveling the world together. She was a devoted wife and life partner creating a wonderful home environment for her husband and children.

Kathy was a creative person who shared her love of life through her passion for gardening, gourmet cooking and was a master seamstress. She treasured her home and always created a show place that was filled with her love of interior design and collections. She was a beloved mother, wife and Meme to her grandchildren. She was also actively involved in the Legal Auxiliary and Women's Forum.

She is survived by her daughter Vickye Banner of Wichita Falls; daughter Rosana Hughes and husband Paul Hughes of Wichita Falls; daughter Kristy Kent and husband Chris Kent of Simsbury, CT; daughter Kara Quarles and husband Lanny Quarles of Dallas, TX. She also has six grandchildren, Tara Bready and husband Colin Bready of Orlando, FL; Mark Scheurer of Tulsa, OK; Caitlin Kent of Simsbury, CT; Jack Kent of Simsbury, CT; Michael Hughes and wife Maria Hughes of Albuquerque, NM; Jason Hughes of Wichita Falls. She also has two great-grandchildren, Jack Bready and Eleanor Bready. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers James Coffman and Billy Jo Coffman, spouse Jack Banner and son Steve Banner.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of House of Hope for their care and support.
