Lucille P. Coffey, 83, died Thursday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was a Muncie native and a graduate of Muncie schools.

Mrs. Coffey was a member of Shawnee Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Delta Alpha Class, Eastern Star 104, Esther Shrine 17 and White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She was past worthy high priestess, Social Order of Beauceant 101, past president and past supreme comm woman, and Tete Sheri Temple 60, Daughters of the Nile, Fort Wayne, life member of Fez Mates of Mispah Shrine Club, past guardian of Bethel 25 of Job's Daughters, past Grand National president of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority and past president of local XI Chapter, of which she was a life member and was presented her 50-year pin in 1988. She also was past state secretary of Verus Corddis Sorority, past president of local Semper Paratus Chapter, past president of the Muncie Nile Club, member of Huffer Day Care Center Auxiliary and a member of the Sam Bees Breakfast Club.

Mrs. Coffey worked 41 years at Indiana Pressed Steel Co. as executive secretary and retired in 1974.

Survivors include a brother, James Palmer, Muncie; two nephews, and six nieces.

Services will be in Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, 1600 E. Fuson Road, at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and a half hour before services Monday. A White Shrine memorial service will be Sunday evening at the mortuary.
