Sara Lou Coffey, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at her residence. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends at the North Cleveland Towers. She liked to sew, crochet (especially baby blankets), and quilt. She was a member of the Cherokee Blossom and Mount Olive quilt guilds. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She also liked to read and study the Word of God. She shared her faith, power of prayer, and love of the Lord with everyone. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, DuVaughn Coffey; parents, Arthur and Gennie Goins; son, Jimmy Coffey; sister, Dot Gee; brother, Quinton Goins; and granddaughter, Tiffany Lynn Coffey.

Survivors include two sons, Dwight Coffey (Vickie) and Lynn Coffey (Debbie); two daughters, Phyllis Martin and Renee May (Mark); seven grandchildren, Will Martin (Megan), Candace Leslie, Brandon Leslie (Mandy), Misti Coffey, Justin Coffey, Katie May, Olina Coffey; and two great grandchildren, Koleman Leslie and Cooper Leslie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Grissom Funeral Home with Rev. Reed Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Will Martin, Brandon Leslie, Justin Coffey, Mark May, David Coffey, Mike Gee, and Tyler Marcrom serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family request memorials be made to The Trousdale School, 3171 Hewitt St. SE, Cleveland, TN 37312.
