Clavis Marvin Coffey, son of the late Mr. William Coffey and Mrs. Rosalyn Moss Coffey, was born 4 Dec 1882 in Metcalfe Co. and died Thurs., 25 jan 1968 at the home of Mrs. Victoria Kreke in Greensburg. He was 85 years of age. He was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church in Adair Co. at the time of his death. He united in marriage to Miss Inez Sullivan, 23 Oct 1905 and she preceded him in death 22 Aug 1958. To this union were born 2 sons and 2 daughters. Surviving are: Cecil Coffey, Greensburg; Mrs. Helen Harris, Greensburg and Mrs. Mossie Gilpin, Lyndon. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10 am (fast time) Sat., 27 Jan 1968 at the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church with burial in the church Cem. Rev. V.A. Jones and Rev. William Ellis officiating. Pallbearers were Emanuel Gilpin, Buford Coffey, Steve Coffey, Joe Shuffett, Kenneth Harris and Bobby Durham. Honorary Pallbearers were Ewell Coffey, Elroy Coffey, Gearon Coffey, Ransom Parnell, Amos Willis, and Ray Stoner.
