Obituary:
Ms. Allene Coffey, age 88 of Harriman, passed away Wednesday April 6, 2011 at the Harriman Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was employed at Kayser-Roth in Harriman from 1941 until 1987. After her retirement she assisted with supplying food for the Roane State BSU and was a leader in VBS each summer at her church. As an active member of Riggs Chapel Baptist Church, Allene taught Sunday School for various age groups as well as assisting with projects at a local children's home.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Lee and Clatie Morgan Coffey. Two brothers: Jack and Lowell Coffey. Two sisters: Zelma McKinney and Ruby Stegall. And three brothers-in-law: Gene Hegwood, Tommie Brown and Paul McKinney.

She is survived by four sisters and two brothers-in-law: Lorene Brown of Decatur, GA, Violet and Bob Sloan of Livonia, MI, Helen Hegwood of Chamblee, GA, Anna and Jim Sloan of Jackson, AL. Two brothers and sisters-in-law: Thurman and Lula Coffey of Harriman and Clarence and Bonita Coffey of Crossville. Two sisters-in-law: Sue Coffey of Liberty, SC and Juanita Huskey of Powell. One brother-in-law: John Stegall of Waynesboro And several nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends Saturday April 9, 2011 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM with Rev. Hascue Carter and Pastor Jimmy Banken officiating. Interment will follow in the Riggs Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Riggs Chapel Cemetery Fund.
