PANHANDLE - Blaze Coffee, 20, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Zimmerman, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.
Blaze was born Aug. 9, 1989, in Amarillo and was a lifetime resident of Panhandle. He graduated in 2008 from Panhandle High School, where he played football and was in track and power lifting. Blaze was a college student at Amarillo College and was planning to later attend West Texas A&M University in Canyon. He especially enjoyed one-act plays and was just in "Moon Over Buffalo" at Amarillo College.
Survivors include his parents, Terry and Rhonda Coffee of Panhandle; a brother, Adam Coffee and wife Shannon of Panhandle; a sister, Kristen Coffee of Panhandle; his grandparents, Saundra McCoy of Panhandle and Tina Coffee of Amarillo; a niece and nephew, Jadyn and Dallas Coffee of Panhandle; and a nephew, Topher Coffee of Panhandle.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests blood donations in memory of Blaze be made to Coffee Memorial Blood Center in Amarillo.
