Dorothy Eloise Coffee Barnes, 9399 Augusta Road, Pelzer, South Carolina, died Sunday, July 13, 1997, at Summit Place Inc., Simpsonville, South Carolina. She was 76.
A native of Madison, Florida, she was born April 4, 1921, daughter of the late Paul and Maude Michel Coffee. She was a former employee of Thompson Dental Company and Ellen Woodside Elementary School in Greenville, South Carolina, and a retired civil service secretary. She was a member of Washington Baptist Church in Pelzer, Snow Campaign Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, where she held several offices, and past-president and secretary of Community Club.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Leon Barnes; two sons, John Barnes, Irmo, South Carolina, and Barney Barnes, Somerset; two daughters, Gretchen Caughman, Augusta, Georgia, and Joyce Mirgle, De Leon Springs, Florida; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Mill Springs National Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky.
Morris and Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
