L. Z. Coffee, age 79, of Brownwood, and formerly of Midland, died Sunday at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. He was born February 26, 1923, the son of the late Robert Lonzo and Myrtle Annie Jacops Coffee. He has resided in Brownwood for the past two years moving there from Midland. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was the former owner of Coffee Construction in Midland. He married Louise Broyles in 1958. She preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Carroll Odell of Midland and Jeweliann B. and Daniel Francis of Gurdon, Arkansas; six sisters, Lily Mae Brown of Comanche; Lois Marie Williamson of Corsicana; Melba McBride of Owens; Louise Shipley of New Mexico; Janey Davis of Coleman; Myrtle Storey of Brownwood; five grandchildren, Pamela Flores of Midland, Tracella Cisneros of Lubbock, Jeweliann Smith. Nine great-grandchildren also survive.
