Jo Helen Coe, 93, of Copperas Cove, TX, died on Sunday, February 2, 2014, in Copperas Cove, Coryell County, TX. Mrs. Coe was born May 24, 1920, in Union Springs, AL, to William and Eula Belle Sellers.

She graduated from high school in Birmingham, AL, in January 1940. On August 21, 1944, she married Curtis Clarence9 Coe (William Russell8, William Curtis7, Ebenezer6, Horatio5, Elijah4, John3, Richard2, Richard1).

She worked for City Hall in Birmingham. During WW II she worked for the department responsible for shipping war material to the Soviet Union. She retired from Sears Roebuck in Springfield, MO.

Helen spent most of her life in Springfield, but moved to Copperas Cove, TX, 15 years ago. She attended Second Baptist Church in Springfield and First Baptist Church in Copperas Cove. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, knitting, and reading.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Joyce Roberts and her husband David of Copperas Cove; her son William Curtis Coe and his wife Joy of Bulverde, TX; grandchildren Melia Coe of Vernon, TX; James Roberts of Austin; William Coe of Minneapolis; Shelley Posey of Copperas Cove; great-grandchildren Johnathan Bunge, Taylor Coe, Nathan Posey, Logan Hooser, Tanner Hooser, and Lily Hooser; and great-great-grandchild Emery Alora Coe.

She is also survived by her sister Virginia Belle Prescott; nieces Lynn Birk, Jeannie Saxon, Kay Sellers Cox, Marjorie Day, Sharon Grasse, Camilla Kilgroe, Carol Shelton, Margaret Sellers, Ann Woodward; nephews Davis Kilgroe and Sonny Sellers; and her beloved dog Mitzi.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her sisters Camilla Gray Sellers, Mildred Bernice Kilgroe, and Ruth Elitha Saxon; her brothers Cecil Edward Sellers, William Howell Sellers, Jr. , and her nephew Vernon Parker Saxon.

Visitation services are Tuesday, February 4, 2014, from 6-7 p.m. and memorial services are Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Pastor Mark Kemp will officiate. The interment will be in Springfield, MO.

Family has requested that, instead of flowers, make donations to First Baptist Church (Youth Fund), 300 W. Ave. B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
