Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1993, Iowa City Press-Citizen:
Marilyn Sue Blaha, 58, amana, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital after a long illness [cancer].
Services will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday at George L. Gay Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville. The Revs. Jack Kirk and Dean Trumbull will officiate.
Mrs. Blaha was born Aug. 10, 1934, in Iowa City, to Herbert and Florence (Stoner) Cochran. She married John "Jack" Blaha, Oct. 29, 1952 at North Liberty. She was a homemaker. She attended New Beginning/North Bend Church of God in North Liberty and was a member of Swisher American Legion Auxiliary and Oxford Card Club.
Survivors include her husband of Amana; two sons: John of Swisher and Marlon of Cedar Rapids; three daughters: Charlotte (Mrs. Ron) Pugh and Teresa (Mrs. Kirk) Douglas, both of Onalaska, WI, and Marjean (Mrs. Rick) Burkhart of Westminster, PA; 14 grandchildren; one brother: Ralph Cochran of Harlingen, Texas; and one sister: Wilma Oxford of Cedar Rapids.
Her parents died earlier.
