Mrs. Charles C. Cochran
Ada Miller Cochran was born near Glasgow, Jefferson county, Iowa, February 13, 1854 and departed this life January 5, 1929.
She was the youngest of twelve children born to Thomas and Elisa Moore Miller. Two sisters, Mrs. Angeline Stout, Fairfield, Iowa and Mrs. Aletha Jones, Cantril, Iowa, survive her.
For several years she lived with her sister in Creston, Iowa, where she united with the Christian Church.
On February 23, 1989 she was united in marriage to C. C. Cochran and lived on a farm until thirteen years ago when she moved to Fairfield.
Her husband and his five children remain to mourn her death. They are; Clarence, Fred, Theron, Mrs. Nellie Murphy and Mrs. Mary McCormick, all living near Fairfield.
Mrs. Cochran was a loving wife and helpmate, a mother to her husband's children, whom she loved and cared for as if they were her own. No words can express the great love, honor and appreciation these children had for this mother.
Funeral services were held from the Christian Church, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. R. H. Polly. Mrs. L. W. VanNostrand and Mrs. A. C. Johnson, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. William Stever, sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere". The pallbearers were: William and Hugh McWhirter. Chester and Guy Fry, Ralph Stout and Perry Monfort. Interment was in Fairfield Abbey.
