She was born July 22, 1924, in Lima to Floyd and Ethel Leedy Stevenson, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 7, 1943, she married Thad Cochensparger, who survives on the family farm in Auglaize Township.
Mrs. Cochensparger was a homemaker, devoted mom and grandmother. She was a member of South Side Christian Church, Lima. She was a longtime avid golfer and an original member of Hawthorne Hills Country Club Golf Course Ladies League. She was also a member of the Lima Elkettes Ladies Golf League. She had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Lima South High School.
Survivors also include a son, Bill (Nancie) Cochensparger, of Lima; a daughter, Ann (Jerry) English, of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Cochensparger, of Harrod; a sister, Eulalah Smith, of LaPorte, Ind.; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Stevenson, of Arizona; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dave Cochensparger; a brother, James Stevenson; and a sister, LaZora Oliver.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette.
There will be no visitation.
