Agnes' early years were spent in and
around Elma, Iowa, where she was born,
the daughter of John and Anna A Voves.
Agnes grew to a very attractive lady
and married Louis Cobery in 1923.
A Short time later they moved near
Shellsburg, Iowa and started their family.
Times were hard, but she managed.
Being farmers, Lou was working in the
fields and not home much. The days were.
long and a bit lonely. She had a large
garden and canned many fruits and
vegetables. Agnes was a devoted wife
and mother and a doting grandmother.
She was a marvelous cook. Everyone
always looked to her dishes she
brought to church and family gatherings.
One of her specialties was Concord Grape
Pie. Oh My! It was unbelievably delicious.
Agnes was a hard worker, devoted wife,
loving mother, sister, aunt and friend.
She enjoyed the simple things in life and
was present in each moment. Any one being
in her presence felt it was an honor and a
privilege. She was especially proud of her
ancestry. Agnes' daughter, Martha, said of
her Mother, "My Mother was a remarkable
Christian woman. We felt blessed and safe
when she prayed for us." What a grand lady
she was and how lucky the Coberly family
was to have her as a member of their family.
She was precede in death by her husband,
two sons, Stanley Robert and Jack Willard.
Agnes has gone to a home far away where
there is no pain. Tenderly we treasure the
the past with sweet memories that will
forever be in our hearts. You are missed,
prayed for and remembered with love, Agnes.
Rest in peace now that your family is close
by your side once again and safe in the
arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

God looked around His garden and found an empty space. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put His arm around you and gently lifted you to rest. God's garden must be a beautiful place; he always takes the best! You are missed, b...(Read more)
