Mark Allen Coats, age 70, of Cross Roads, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Denton, Texas. He was born May 30, 1942 to Walter Edward and Mary Gladys Flannagan Coats in Prescott, Arizona.

He married Elaine P. Waloski, November 17, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. Mark was a retired mechanic and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Mark is survived by his wife, Elaine of Cross Roads; son, Mark and wife Christy Coats of Sanger; daughters, Debra and husband Sam Foster of Pilot Point, Elizabeth and husband Wes Masch of Smithtown, New York; grand children, Christopher Black, Amanda Foster, Wesley Masch, and Colton Masch; mother, Mary Coats of San Diego, California; sisters, Linda Ellis of Phoenix, Arizona and Marilyn Okleberry also of Phoenix.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter and one brother, Edward Coats.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm at the Slay Memorial Funeral Center in Aubrey with a service to follow at 7:30 pm. The Rev. Luther Slay will officiate. Burial with honors will be Friday, March 1, 2013 beginning at 11:15 am at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the North Texas Humane Society 1840 E. Lancaster Ave, Ft. Worth Texas
