Erma Lee Ledbetter-Cloyd passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at Liberty Hospital surrounded by her family. Erma was born December 29, 1925, in Thayer, Mo., to Charley and Gertrude Clark, one of eight children. She married R. C. Ledbetter in 1944 and they had two children, Carl and Sandra. R. C. died in 1982. She married Bill Cloyd in 1987.
She received her B.S., Masters and Specialists degrees in Business Education from the University of Missouri and taught Business Education at Van-Far High School, Vandalia, Mo., for 28 years, retiring in 1989. After retirement Erma and Bill moved to Kearney, Mo., to be closer to her children and their families.
Bill died in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Setterstrom in 1999.
Erma is survived by her son, Carl, his wife, Ellen, grandchildren Sara (Bart) Woods, Eric (Ursula) Ledbetter, Megan (Clark) Halferty, Heather Setterstrom and Andrew Setterstrom, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
A private family remembrance will be held with burial in Thayer, Mo. Memorials may be made to Kearney United Methodist Church.
