Services for Junius "Jay" Closs Jr., 69, of Spring are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. Burial will be in New Church Cemetery in the Edge community.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to the time of services Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Closs died Friday at his home. He was born in Edge and was a former resident of Bryan. He was a lifelong member of Edge Baptist Church and a retired special education instructor for Jane Long Middle School. He also was regional manager for Pillsbury for 18 years and had been a volunteer for the Spring ISD Education Foundation since 1995. Mr. Closs was a member of the Spring Lions Club. He served in the U.S. Army and received a law degree from South Texas College of Law.

Survivors include a son, Fred William Closs of Mesquite; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Dr. Jimmie L. Bergeron of Spring and Melanie L. and Andrew Newman of Columbia, Md.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Milton P. Closs and Dalton M. and Helen Closs, all of Edge; and seven grandchildren.
