Otto Close Died Sunday

Otto Franklin Close, 1210 East Grant street, a lifelong resident of Centerville, passed away at St. Joseph hospital at 5 a.m., Saturday, June 10, at the age of 75 years, 4 months, 7 days.
He was born February 3, 1892, in Centerville, the son of William and Frances Riggle Close. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America
In Albia he married Opal B. Hamm in 1923, who survives along with a daughter, Mrs. John (Marjorie Lee) LeSage of Long Beach, Calif. Five grandchildren and two sisters, Dollie Gault, Cincinnati, Iowa, and Wilma Claare of Long Beach, Calif., also survive.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held from the Johnson Funeral home at 1:30 p.m., Monday, with burial in Oakland cemetery. Rev. Sidney Sloan will officiate.
