Mary Olivia Cloninger Boggs, 89, of Fort Worth and formerly of Claremont, N.C., died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at a care center in Fort Worth. Funeral: Was at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Claremont, N.C. The Rev. Dr. Gary Haddock and the Rev. Dr. Terry Boggs officiated. Interment: in the church cemetery. Memorials: May be made to James L. West Presbyterian Special Care Center, Fort Worth; The Community Hospice of Texas, West Center, Fort Worth; or St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Fort Worth. Born Sept. 24, 1923,

Mary was the daughter of the late Henry Alfred Cloninger and Julia Estelle Busbee Cloninger. She married James Russell Boggs in 1943. She developed a career in bookkeeping, office management and later as a medical stenographer for physicians and surgeons at military hospitals in Virginia, Kansas and Okinawa. Mary also served with her husband in congregational/chaplaincy ministry for over 38 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Col. and Chaplain J. Russell Boggs; sister, Rachel C. Smith; and brothers, Quentin Cloninger and James Cloninger. Survivors: Daughter, Olivian Boggs Boon (James) of Princeton, N.J.; son, the Rev. Terry Boggs (Marcia) of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Catherine Boon Cuille (Lionel) of St. Louis, Mo., Jessica Boon of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kristan Boggs of Dallas and Ashley Boggs Miller (Brian) of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Ian Boggs, Elena and Remi Cuille; Alexander, Abigail and Graham Miller; brother, Henry Cloninger (Doris) of Blacksburg, S.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews and their families.
