Lyle S. Clodfelter, 81, Roachdale, died Monday morning at Putnam County Hospital.

Born April 30, 1922 at Morton, he was the son of Elmer A. and Betty (Sewell) Clodfelter.

A farmer, he had farmed around the Morton area until late 1980. He was a member of Morton Masonic Lodge and Union Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a 1940 graduate of Russellville High School.

He married Edna Mae Allgood on June 14, 1942. She died in February 1982. He married Virginia Perkins on May 19, 1983. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Gary Clodfelter, Russellville; two daughters, Jo Ellen Clodfelter and Myrna Clodfelter, both of Indianapolis; a stepson, Cecil B. Perkins II, Roachdale; a stepdaughter, Nancy Mendenhall, Roachdale; brother, William Clodfelter, Russellville; two grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Howard, Kenneth, Lloyd, Willard and Donald Clodfelter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, Roachdale, with Rev. Thomas Davis officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Masonic memorial services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
