Bertha Anstine Clites was born at Tamora, Nebr. on March 27, 1882. Her parents were Douglas and Helen Anstine. She passed away Oct. 17, at Omaha, at age of 89 years, six months and 22 days.
She was united in marriage to Walter Clites on June 12, 1902 at Seward, Nebr. To this union, three children were born, Bertha Marie and Edna Faith who passed away as babies, and Mildred Finders.
They lived in Haveloqk, Nebr. for one year and then moved to Emerson and lived there until January, 1963 when her husband died and she then moved to Omaha and made her home wlh her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Finders until her death.
She was a member of the Baptist Church and an active worker for years. She also belonged to the Women's Relief Corp ,and was an honorary member.
She had 2 grandchildren, Nathan Butcher of Omaha and Darlcne Collett of Eureka Springs, Ark.; 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, and, two living brothers, Grover and Seth Anstine of Hastings, Nebr.; two sisters-in-law Mrs. Grover Anstine and Mrs. Arvid Carlson of Palmer, Nebr.; one brother-in-law, Willard Clites of Hope, Kan. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Emerson First Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. William Van Antwerp officiating. Burial was in the Emerson Cemetery.
