Sara Jane (Cline) Anderson, 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep the evening of June 28, 2013.
She leaves a legacy of volunteerism for her four grandchildren, Tobin, Leah, Hannah and Sam. Born in Sistersville, West Virginia, in 1915, as a young child she moved to Patterson Heights, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, where she lived in the same house for 92 years. Her beloved husband, Will Cummings Anderson, predeceased her by forty-eight years. In the town she knew so well and the area of Pennsylvania and Ohio that she loved, she had many good times with her sister Elizabeth, brother Charles, and many friends of a lifetime. Her favorite walks were in Brady's Run Park, where they picked wild violets as a child. Over the years she volunteered many hours a month for the Salvation Army, the Hospital Auxiliary, and Meals on Wheels. She faithfully drove her friends to the Outlook Club, Century Club and many other social events until she stopped driving in her mid 90's. Her strong and happy spirit made her a friend to many; she squeezed every ounce of enjoyment out of life that she could - she climbed a mountain for her 90th birthday, and rode a motorcycle at 95. She was also helped by many people in the Beaver Valley; neighbor Kellie and companion Joan. Four years ago she moved to Providence, Rhode Island, to the Epoch Assisted Living on the East Side, where she adjusted well and seemed so happy to be surrounded by many caring people.
In addition to her grandchildren, Sally is survived by her attentive sons, Robert, Will and his wife Juliana, and her nephew James and his wife Brooke.
Friends will be received on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. in the CAMPBELL'S BEAVER FALLS FUNERAL HOME, 14th Street and Eighth Avenue, www.campbellfuneralhomes.com.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any of Sally's charities, including the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, or to your local Audubon Society.
