MAIDEN Alpha Grey Clinard, 79, of 5531 Bucks Garage Road, died Jan. 22, 2004. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Amity Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Amity Baptist Church, 881 Amity Church Road, Denver, NC 28037.

Burke Mortuary in Maiden was in charge of arrangements.

Alpha Grey Clinard, 79, Maiden, N.C., formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

The funeral was Jan. 24 at Amity Baptist Church, Denver, N.C., with the Revs. Larry Little and Raymond Hamrick officiating. Burial was in Amity Church Cemetery, Denver, N.C. Burke Mortuary, Maiden, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.

He was born March 20, 1924, in Stewart County, son of Bernard and Cynthia Glasgow Clinard.

He was a member of Amity Baptist Church, Denver, NC.

Survivors include a son, Kevan Clinard, Mississippi; a daughter, Debbie Urbat, Clarksville; a stepdaughter, Rosemary Carpenter, Virginia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MAIDEN, N.C. - Services were held on Jan. 24 at Amity Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., for Alpha "Alfie" Grey Clinard, 79, of Maiden, N.C., who died Jan. 22, 2004, at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.

Mr. Clinard was a World War II veteran and served in the Navy in the Pacific theater.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Myrick Clinard of Maiden, N.C.; a son, Kevan Clinard of Taylorsville; a daughter, Debbie Urbat of Clarksville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Rosemary Carpenter of Portsmouth, Va.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Burke Mortuaries of Maiden, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.
