MAIDEN — Alpha Grey Clinard, 79, of 5531 Bucks Garage Road, died Jan. 22, 2004. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Amity Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was born March 20, 1924, in Stewart County, son of Bernard and Cynthia Glasgow Clinard.
He was a member of Amity Baptist Church, Denver, NC.
Survivors include a son, Kevan Clinard, Mississippi; a daughter, Debbie Urbat, Clarksville; a stepdaughter, Rosemary Carpenter, Virginia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Clinard was a World War II veteran and served in the Navy in the Pacific theater.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Myrick Clinard of Maiden, N.C.; a son, Kevan Clinard of Taylorsville; a daughter, Debbie Urbat of Clarksville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Rosemary Carpenter of Portsmouth, Va.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burke Mortuaries of Maiden, N.C., was in charge of arrangements.
