The daughter of Daniel J. (1821-1848) and Sophia COVELL (1822-1890) Cleveland, she lived her entire life in Bradford County. She married Simeon Chase on the 29th of November, 1868 and they had two daughters. She sometimes used Susan as her first name.

Gillett. Aug.10.—Mrs. Alice Chase died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Craighton Cease, Friday. She is survived by her husband, Simeon Chase; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Griswold of Napa, Calif., and Mrs. Cease, and two grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Gillett Church Sunday at 2 p. m. The Rev. J. Sydney Kane officiated. Burial was in the Gillett Cemetery.
