Samuel Alexander "Alex" Clester was born 02 May 1903 in Belle Plaine, Sumner County, Kansas; the last of three children born to William "Will" Thomas and Caroline "Carrie" Elizabeth (Clewell) Clester.

Alex was united in marriage (#1) Olwyn F. Rowlands; daughter of John and Olive Eugenia (Tripp) Rowlands.

Alex and Olwyn were the parents of two children:

1. Marjorie Belle born 1924 married Lynn E. Mallatt
2. Robert (Bob) R. born 1926 married Martha J. Marquardt

Alex later was united in marriage 21 Mar 1934 with (#2) Camille Fennetta Dunn; daughter of Frank Lewis and Grace Day (Elliot) Dunn.

Alex and Camille added two more children to the family:

3. Lexie Ann born 1936 married Rodney D. Hamblin
4. William Samuel "Sam" born 1940 married (#1) Carole Ann Zenner and (#2) Carolyn Virginia Hendricks

Alex passed away 03 Feb 1948 in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas and was laid to rest in Belle Plaine Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Sumner, Kansas.

ROWLANDS – CLESTER

An announcement of the marriage of Miss Olwyn Rowlands, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rowlands, of Rt. 5, to Mr. Alexander Clester, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Clester, of Belle Plaine, occurred at Winfield this morning, came as a surprise to the many friends and acquaintances of Mr. and Mrs. Clester.

The ceremony was performed at the parsonage of District Superintendent R.L. George, of Winfield, at 10:30 this morning, the ring ceremony being used. Marvin Rowlands, brother of the bride, Harry Hunt, of Belle Plaine and Miss Belle Brinkley accompanied the bride and groom to Winfield.

Miss Rowlands, who now attends the Wellington High School, has many friends in the school and is widely known in social circles.

Mr. Clester was a student of the Belle Plaine High School for three years and of the Wellington High School for one year, being well known in both places.

Mr. Clester has been presented a fine farm by his father, locate one half mile south of Belle Plaine, and the bride and groom will be at home to their friends on their new farm after February 15. --- Wellingnton News.
