CARTERVILLE, Mo. — Isaac W. Clemons, 63, 610 E. Hannum St., died at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a long illness.

Mr. Clemons was born Dec. 17, 1928, at Pittsburg, Kan.

He had been a resident of the Joplin area for the past 30 years. He had been the owner of a service station in Carterville. He was a member of the Carterville Christian Church.

He married Lela M. Vaughn on Aug. 11, 1962, at Joplin. She survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Mike Clemons, Joplin, and David Clemons, Carl Junction; four daughters, Connie Clemons, Carthage, Sandra Parker, Joplin, Norma Harrison, Henley, and Jennith Prince, Vista, Calif.; three brothers, John Clemons, Carterville, Gerald Clemons, Miami, Okla., and David Clemons, San Fernando, Calif.; a sister, Wanda Mull, Joplin; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin. Terry McGrew, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Carterville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Page, Carl Kendrick, Phil Clayton, Joe Johnson, Dave Garrison and Cecil Mull.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.

CARTERVILLE, MO — Lela M. Clemons, age 87, of Carterville, Mo., went to be with the Lord at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Spring River Christian Village.

She will be greatly missed by family.

Lela was born May 18, 1923, in Joplin and had lived in Carterville the last 48 years.

She was employed for eight years with the former Elmhurst Nursing Home in Webb City and worked 25 years for Wilder's Restaurant in Joplin.

Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac W. Clemons, on May 5, 1993; and also by one sister; and three brothers.

Survivors include one son, Dave Clemons, and wife Wendy, Joplin; three daughters, Jenneth Prince and Sandra Parker, both of Joplin, and Connie Clemons, Carthage, Mo.; four sisters, her twin, Letha Paton, Collinsville, Ill., Eunice Kiser and husband Kenneth and Lola Bladl, all of Joplin, and Lora Ashen and husband Bob, Galena, Kan.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Dave Garrison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Carterville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Chapel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary, of Joplin, Mo.
