Mr. Lavender died on Sunday, May 24 in Lawton. Baine Brooks of Allen, Texas, will preside over the celebration of Mr. Lavender’s life.

While at Ike, Robert was an outstanding athlete in baseball, basketball, and football where he earned All-State honors his senior year. Upon graduation he attended Conners State Junior College on a baseball scholarship earning his associates degree in 1985. He was awarded a baseball scholarship to the University of Oklahoma that spring and became a starting player for the Sooner Baseball Team from 1985 to 1987. For most of his professional life, Robert was a part of the food industry. He returned to Lawton in the fall of 2014 to help with his father’s business, All-Pro Roofing.

His father preceded him in death.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Courtney, and son, Trey, of Edmond; his brother, Jeff, of Oklahoma City; his mother, Nancy Lavender, and her husband, Bob Brown, of Lawton; as well as many other relatives, friends, associates, and former team mates who value deeply the all too brief time he was a part of their lives.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in his daughter Courtney’s name to the Make-a-Wish Foundation or Children’s’ Miracle Network, two charities she is very involved in at the University of Oklahoma.
