Willard W. Clements, 80, 212 Grove St., Lindale died at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Clements was born in Haralson County April 28, 1895, but had resided most of his life in Floyd County, He was the son of the late Rev. Charles Clements and Eve Howell Clements. He was a retired employe of the Lindale Laundry; a member of Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marines; an active member of Lindale Post 136 American Legion and was active in church and civic affairs.
Survivors include his widow, the former Winnie Stansell to whom he was married in 1916; one daughter, Mrs. Doris Waits, Atlanta; two brothers, Howard S. Clements and Johnny W. Clements, both of Lindale; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Solomon and Mrs. Ella Foust, both of Danville, Va.; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today in the chapel of Henderson Frazier Funeral home with the Revs. Floyd Battle and Wesley Thomas officiating. Interment was in Lindale Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Homer Williams, Emmitt Akins, William Penley, Jimmy Loftin, Turner Evans, L. R. James, H. H. Bill White.
Henderson Frazier Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
