Mr. and Mrs. Clemens lived at North Washington nearly all their lives. Four years ago they moved to Dubuque and after his death she her home with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Maiers of that city.
All her life Mrs. Clemens was devoted to her family and other relatives and a good fired to all she knew. She had three sons in service during the World War, and it is said she wrote to them every day.
In Chickasaw County, she retained a host of friends all through life because she was so good and so kind. We join all of these in extending sincere sympathy to her bereaved ones.
