EAST DUBUQUE, Ill. - Cletus J. Clemen, 63, of East Dubuque, went home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Word of Life Church, 4450 Dodge St., Dubuque. Private burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holy Cross, Iowa. The time for friends and family to gather will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, Dubuque.
He was born on July 31, 1945, in Holy Cross, son of Leonard and Frances (Hayes) Clemen.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Grace; a son, Carl (Amy) Clemen, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; daughters, Wanda Atwood, of Sioux City, Iowa, and Angie (David) Stuecker, of Marion, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Brianna, Austin, Eli, Sam, Ashlynn, Emily, Eryn and Zachary; sisters, Kathleen (Albert) Trenkamp, of Dyersville, Iowa, Virginia (Bill) Juran, of Holy Cross, and Donna (John) Weimerskirch, of Dubuque; brothers, Edwin (Rosie) Clemen, of New Vienna, Iowa, and Roger (Janey) Clemen, of Holy Cross; sisters-in-law, LaVonne Clemen, of Holy Cross, Mary Clemen, of Hendersonville, Tenn., Mary (Don) Frommung, of Prairie du Sac, Wis., Dianne (Dennis) Duwe, of Luxemburg, Iowa, and Phyllis Errthum, of Holy Cross; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Norma) Deutmeyer, of Dyersville, Jerry (Jan) Deutmeyer, of Dubuque, and Richard (Helen) Deutmeyer, of Guttenberg, Iowa; as well as too many nieces and nephews to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Helen Deutmeyer; brothers, Leon and Ambrose; brothers-in-law, Lee Wedewer, Ralph Deutmeyer, Jim Oberbrockling and Robert Errthum.
During a time of great need worldwide, the family asks that no flowers or gifts be sent. Memorials that are given will be used to benefit charities.
