Gladys L. Blackburn, 81 of Maypearl, died Monday, July 19, 1993, at Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie.

She was born Sept. 22, 1911 in Troy, Texas, to Richard Arthur and Laura Jane (Hargrove) Clem, she graduated from Troy High School in 1930, and married James Samuel Blackburn on Oct. 8, 1932 in Belton, Texas. They had previously lived in Troy, Temple and Lewisville before moving to Maypearl in 1987. Mrs. Blackburn had previously worked for the Lewisville ISD in the cafeteria. She attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Temple.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 1993 in the Chapel of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carlton Young officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Roberts Cemetery in Troy, with Rev Mozell Holtzclaw officiating.

Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Boze-Mitchell Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
