David Stephen Cleaver of West Liberty died at the Olney Sanitarium Saturday night following an extended period of ill health and a recent stroke of Paralysis.
He was born in Hardin county, KY, August 26, 1868, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cleaver, but had resided most of his life at West Liberty.
He leaves five sons and six daughters, Mrs. John Avery, Lon, Oliver and Ray Cleaver, Mrs. John Scanlan, Mrs. Nelson Bourgeois, Mrs. Eldon Stallard, William Cleaver, Mrs. Chas. Woodard, Mrs. George Loveless and Sergeant Clifford Cleaver, now in Manila; sixteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild. His wife, Mrs. Leona Parker Cleaver, Ppreceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the Parker Funeral Home in Newton, Monday afternoon and burial was in Riverside cemetery. The Rev. Hal C. Mendenhall of West Liberty officiated.
