James Norman Clayworth, 73, of Modesto at Vintage Faire Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Clayworth was born in Stockton and had lived in
Modesto since 1965.
He owned and operated Modesto Typewriter and Turlock Typewriter.
He is survived by his son, Byron N. Clayworth of Waterford; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
Lakewood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

James was born in Stockton to the late Byron W. and Maxine Clayworth.
He had a brother named John and a sister named Rosamonde, who are both deceased.
Norman was in the National Guard for four years and he was a butcher.
He married the late Patricia L. Brazeau and has a son, Byron N. Clayworth of Waterford.
Norman had two grandchildren, Jessica and Brian Clayworth of Waterford.
Norman moved to Modesto in 1965 where he opened Modesto Typewriter and later opened Turlock Typewriter.
After being in the typewriter business he became a handyman working for Alan Grant and his last employer was Dr. Sermino.
Norman was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., in Hughson, CA on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 2:00 pm.
