Beulah Memmott Clayson, our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on the morning of March 7, 2011, three months shy of her 100th birthday.

She was born June 7, 1911 in Scipio, Utah to Reno Memmott and Bertha Delcina Robins. She attended school in Scipio, graduated from Millard High School, attended the University of California at Berkeley and ultimately graduated from Snow College with an Associate Degree in teaching. After completing college, she taught elementary school for several years in Ephraim, Moab, and Magna, Utah.

On June 10, 1939, she married Eli K. Clayson in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children.

Her life with Eli was filled with church and community service. In addition to supporting Eli in his many church responsibilities, she served at many levels in the church herself, including ward Primary President, ward Relief Society Presidency, and Stake Young Women's President for twelve years. She also served in various other positions.

From 1974-1977, she served with Eli as he presided over the Germany Frankfurt Mission. Their relationships with missionaries remained as one of their fondest associations. She was a temple worker and served with Eli when he was a Regional Representative.

Her community involvement included service in numerous societies, clubs, and committees in the Orem and Provo area.

Her interests included a passion for cooking, handiwork, reading, and service to others. She is noted for her telling of Christmas stories and giving book reviews.

Her cooking specialty would always surface at Christmas when family and friends were blessed with hand-dipped chocolates and an array of other holiday treats. She and Eli loved to travel and together visited forty-six countries and six continents with family and friends.

Beulah is survived by her four children, Karl Reno (Kathy), Sacramento, California, Fred Eli (Marti), Ogden, Utah, Karen Clayson Batt (Doyle), Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Stephen Eugene (Sandra), Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Eli preceded her in death, as did her sister LaPrele and grandson David Karl Clayson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 in the Edgemont South Stake Center, 2950 North Canyon Road, Provo. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday at the Church from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment: Provo City Cemetery.
