Albert E. Clay, 84, of Irwin, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003. He was born Dec. 15, 1918, in South Union, a son of the late Andrew and Mary Timchek Clay. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a crane operator by U.S. Steel, Irvin Works, in West Mifflin. He was a member of St. Agnes Church of North Huntingdon, and a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Andrew, Joseph and John Clay. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Ann B. Sofranko Clay; two daughters, Marcia Gray, of North Huntingdon, and Lois Keefer, also of North Huntingdon; two grandsons, James and Michael Keefer; two brothers, George "Rudy" Clay, of Belle Vernon, and James Robert Clay, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
