Mrs. Claxton was born Feb. 7, 1907 in Texas and moved to Arizona in 1947 from Texas. She worked for Tempe Hospital for 14 years and for the Maricopa Public Schools for 20 years as a cook and dietician. She retired in 1975.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Maricopa and was a past member of the Business and Professional Women in Maricopa. She died June 11, 1992 in Casa Grande.
She is survived by a son, James Claxton, of Maricopa; two stepsons: Paul Claxton, of Hoquiam, WA, and Ralph Claxton, of Roy, UT; stepdaughter, Pauline Henderson, of Glendale; sister, Jennie Charlton, of San Antonio, TX; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James 0. Claxton, in 1973.
