Services for Clarabelle K. Claussen, 89, of DeWitt, Iowa, formerly of McCausland, Iowa, will be held at McCausland United Methodist Church on Friday, December 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. Reverend Ruth Ann Scott will officiate the service. Burial will be in McCausland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be made to McCausland United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Claussen died on Monday, December 1, 2008, at Westwing Place, DeWitt. Nelson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Clarabelle (Puetsch) Claussen was born on October 10, 1919, to Herman and Irene (Westgate) Puetsch in Wheatland, Iowa. She married Edward Claussen on September 28, 1940, in Davenport. He died on Sept. 13, 2003.
Mrs. Claussen was employed for Collis Company later known as Chamberlin Manufacturing Company, Clinton, Iowa, for 27 years, retiring in 1981.
Those left to honor her memory are her sons, Clarence "Sonny" and his wife Connie Claussen, Platteville, Wis., and Robert and his wife Pat Claussen, Davenport; daughters, Kathern and her husband Robert Misch, Wheatfield, Indiana, Linda and her husband Leroy Paustian, Walcott, Iowa, Darlene and her husband Jim Johnston, DeWitt, and Jean and her husband Fritz Bergman, Donnellson, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, five sisters, three brothers, and a twin brother.
