" SS New Zealand Transport, built by ...... was a British steamer of 4481 tons.
On June 14th, 1917, New Zealand Transport, on a voyage from Port Talbot to Mudros
with a cargo of coal, was sunk by the German submarine UC-23 (Johannes Kirchner),
8 miles southeast from Serfopoula Island in the Aegean Sea.
3 persons were lost."
